If you want a tasty breakfast Dot is the place. I love their grits and combine the omelette sausage, bacon and cheese which is huge totally mouthwatering. Now the biscuits are so good, however so are the pancakes so you can not go wrong eating here. I am eating here again. Very enjoyable

Country Fried Chicken was hot and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious, the gravy a perfect topping. Buttered Corn was a huge portion, so tasty. Dinner Rolls (4) I threw in the microwave for a bit, just so they'd be extra toasty, they were so fluffy and yummy. Mac & Cheese was also yummy.

Biscuits are alws on point; fluffy, soft, great tasting. I w liked to have had more butter for them though. The steak was a good size, cooked to my liking and very tender. Wonderful surprise, the grits were still hot when delivered! (But still not enough butter.) The slice of key lime pie was delicious and a great size. It was a great meal that i enjoyed over two days.

All of the food was excellent. Dot. Has always good food. The Fried Pork Chops breakfast is my fa I expected two sma pork chops but Ire eivedone really big one however it was cooked well and well seasoned. The grits was sup as always. I wou have liked more butter forthr grits and the biscuit. But the food was very good and packaged well.

Dot Coffee Shop is a historic mainstay in southeast Houston. My dad, who has been gone almost 30 years, loved it, and here I am loving it too. Great breakfasts and burgers, but I am especially partial to their fried mushrooms, fried cheese, and the carrot cake. The fried cheese logs are large, hot, and very crispy. Delicious! The carrot cake is the best I have ever had anywhere. Three layers of moist carrot cake, which is loaded with shreaded carrots and walnut pieces, with luscious cream cheese frosting, creamy and just sweet enough, making it a star. I think their other desserts are also delish; I just can't bring myself to order anything but the carrot cake. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Just like home cooking, if your mom was a great cook.
