The pursuit of pleasure and beauty as a way of life began during the Belle Époque and the Art Nouveau movements. It was a time when going against the grain and focusing on the sensational was fashiona…
This is our go-to bistro. Everthing from bouillabaise to pate trio. Steak-frites and French bread -- the basics -- are excellent. I've had small servings, but never a bad meal. Wine list is reasonably-priced, too.

This was the most disappointing experience. We paid almost $150 for food that wasn't even decent. The creme brulee was just bad. There was no "creme" about it. It was so thick you could cut it with a knife and it didn't taste good. It's my favorite food ever and I threw it away. We ordered a $28 steak and it was the smallest little piece of meat with basic soggy fries. My husband got a crepe and it was pathetic. A tiny, messy, mound with Nutella more smeared on the container than in the crepe. If the meal was a quarter of the price it may of been neutral. But a tiny creme brulee that I threw away isn't worth $14.

Pros : quantity per serving.
Cons : taste, sometimes it's risky to do too much.
The poulet olivettes was a kind of Moroccan tagine, I loved the idea but the chicken seems fried and the sauce a mix of too much spices that don't match together. there is too much of pepper on all And in particular the rice! That kills all the taste!! No pleasure to eat this dishes. The fries are not home made (probably frozen). The oignon soup was ok but nothing amazing.
Second time we tried, and it's still disappointing. I can't understand how this restaurant is recommended from the Michelin guide.

The Steak Frites (Le Chat Noir) was quite disappointing. The fries were cold and hard and tasted like they'd been reheated. The steak was lukewarm and overcooked. The Soupe a L'oignon was nearly cold. The cheese had formed a hard disk in another container. It wasn't placed on top of the soup. Overall, the meal was quite unappetizing and definitely not worth the price.

A rare 'miss' by Le Chat: small helping, too much fish, too little shellfish.
