I found Jack's in Newark when I was working up that way, and I loved it. I was excited to see we were getting one in San Jose. Better yet, the food has been just as good at this one.
We have had the Reuben, and it's really good. It has a good amount of meat on it. I wish it had a little more sauerkraut and Swiss cheese, but it's still really good. Their Avgolemono is also really good.Swedish Pancake - The pancake was good and comparable to other places. The ligonberry butter was good, but I have had better. 4/5
COUNTRY FRIED STEAK AND EGGS - This was huge, more than enough for two people or meals. The country fried steak was a huge portion. The crust and gravy were both seasoned really well. There was also a generous amount of gravy. The steak was tender and flavorful as well. The hashbrowns were nice and crispy, and the eggs were cooked perfectly per our request. 5/5

The MAMA ELENI'S MEATLOAF was flavorful without a "processed flavor." Mashed potatoes were creamy and perfect.The pot HOMEMADE YANKEE POT ROAST fell apart with a fork and exceeded expectations! The fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly and so delicious.
These dishes just are not made by me anymore--after ordering this, I wondered why I ever did! The NY STYLE CHEESECAKE was also great, but did not do too well enroute to us, so no picture posted. But it tasted excellent.

The chicken picatta was really good, and it was a very generous portion. The chicken was cooked perfectly, not dry at all, and the sauce is great. I'll order it again. The gyro was delicious , it all tasted fresh, but it was really, really salty. Also didn't come with enough tzatziki, would order again but ask for extra.

Beware: resto gives you 1 patty instead of 2 on the SMASH BURGER and DD refuses to give me 50% back as a refund ($18.89 cost and they gave $5.39 back for the missing patty and cheese). Don't order this as the promise is double meat and double cheese in the description and picture and you don't get it.
SWEDISH PANCAKES are fire, CLASSIC BUTTERMILK PANCAKES solid.
In the past I have ordered other entrees and they're generally good so I was shocked by the missing met and cheese.

Chicken piccata was totally fresh and delicious! This is our second time ordering from Jack's and it's becoming our go-to. The portions are so big, they're definitely two meals in one! Our picky kids always gobble up their meals too.
