When I tell you this was HANDS DOWN some of the BEST soul food I’ve had in South Jerse!! And trust me, I’ve tried a few places!
I ordered the Mix & Match with a 2-piece fish, 3-piece wings, BBQ, potato salad, and macaroni & cheese… and EVERYTHING hit. 🔥
But that fish?! Darius seasoned that fish like his ancestors were speaking to him in real time! 😂👏🏾 Every bite was seasoned perfectly, fresh, hot, and full of flavor.
The portions are PLENTIFUL, the food is FRESH, and most importantly, Aunt Berta’s is CONSISTENT. EVERY. FREAKING. TIME.
South Jersey does not have an endless supply of really good soul food, so when you find a place that delivers every single time, you have to give them their flowers. 💐
I am OVERLY pleased with my food. Aunt Berta’s Kitchen has officially secured their spot for me.
10/10 — no notes. Just go eat! 😂🔥👏🏾

• 10/5/24I had the Mix & Mix & Match with beef ribs, collards, fried fish, potato salad & sweet potatoes. The ribs were beyond tender, they fell right off the bone and were seasoned just right. The fried fish was equally as good. The sweet potatoes had too much cinnamon for my taste, buts thats just me. The potato salad was good, but some of the potatoes were a tad crunchy, but it tasted great nonetheless. I would not hesitate ordering this entire meal again, I'm very satisfied, I even have enough left over for tomorrow. Although I ordered take out I would sit in, the restaurant was clean and has ample seating. Staff was polite & friendly. See you again soon!

• 3/5/26Okay.. so let's talk about how AMAZING this food is.. The fish, Comes with 5 pieces of well and swell seasoned fish, fried to perfection !! The yams!! 10/10 Just the right amount of of spices to complete this masterpiece.. It might be me but i taste a slight hint of apple inside the yams , FIRE!! The mac and cheese... No words... Amazing!!!!!! Can't forget about the cornbread, Fluffy, moist.. I'd definitely Order again ! Great portion all for 20$, and my food was still hot...

• 6/1/22Smackin. Periodt! Everything is great from this place. Like, they don't miss. The fried fish platter had me eating all day. It was large enough to be lunch, dinner, and a little snack later. The Jenna turkey wings are delicious and fall off the bone. This is definitely one of my favorite soul food spots in the area.

• 1/4/26The Large Chitterling Platter was mostly hog maws and not chitterlings. And for it to be large and for the price it was in a small bowl.
The fish was soggy with no seasoning
The yams/sweet potatoes was like biting into a mouthful of pure sugar and cinnamon nutmeg... way too much
The homemade cornbread was very good.
Unfortunately I would not order from here again.
