Old World, Hong Kong-style dim sum is the calling card at this Los Angeles favorite. Bao Dim Sum House’s authentic menu is ideal if you need a quick snack, a fun lunch, or a lavish feast for your frie…
One of my favorite dine-in spots. First time ordering the Singapore Noodles and stuffed eggplant. Noodles are the perfect match-up of garlicky spicy; just enough spice to tingle the mouth but not burn. How I ever missed the eggplant on the menu before is a crime! This dish is a flavor and texture bomb. Silky and flavorful eggplant nest with a fish-cake textured shrimp filling. This may be my new favorite dish!

Kung Pao Chicken tasted fine but the portion was incredibly small for $26. Felt like a lunch portion. I would only get it if the portion was larger and it wasn't 75% onions and 25% chicken. Spicy Pork Wontons were horrible. The sauce was not a traditional spicy sauce and tasted like straight vinegar. Strawberry Lemonade tasted horrible.

Not very worth the price. The baos were smaller than expected. They don't travel well and got soggy. The breading was doughy and felt like clay. And I didn't like the filling. The Shumai was ok. I would not order from here again.

Bao is our local go-to. We especially love the spicy chicken soup dumplings and tofu dishes. As someone who doesn't eat red med, I love the abundance of traditional recipes made instead with chicken or fish. The interior is also lovely for dining in.
