Poor value and the food was a bit on the bland side. None of their dishes really 'hit' with either mom and dad OR the kids. Italian/pasta is overall lacking in the South Bay, yet despite lowering expectations this place was still kinda a rip off and not great.
An example of their poor quality and value was their $12 garlic knots. 8 dime-sized garlic knots. That's it. No amazing texture, flavor or even portions. If they're not going to even get something as basic as knots correct, you can imagine how the rest of their dishes are.
This place is a few notches below 'meh' and what makes it worse is that the prices are steep.

I ordered from this restaurant thinking it was still Mama D's. I guess Mama D's closed as of yesterday and today the new owners changed the name to Mama Ciao's. We ordered the chicken parmegian, short rib ravioli and a meatball appetizer. All the food was extremely bland and the ravioli had only 5 tiny raviolis for $28! It tasted and smelled like old oil. This restaurant has done a bait and switch and are trying to make people believe they're like Mama D's. Never again.

Honestly was not good at all. Garlic bread was terrible and the pizza tasted like pizza we've had on a cruise ship. Considering they charge an extra fee I will not be ordering again.

Food was good, but order was very wrong. Portions were great, quality of food was good. Everything tasted fresh. Issues came with tomato sauce on two orders that were supposed to be Alfredo & people who ordered are allergic to tomatoes. I would eat again, all about second chances, hoping it was just an oversight.
