Ordered two of the limited time Steakhouse teen burger for myself and a family member. Chose a&w today specifically to try that item. Turned out to be out of stock, these things happen and it is understandable.
However with no attempt to contact me replacement was made with an item that is no where near the closest approximation left on the menu, presumably one they accidentally had a few extras made of or something. Then I was upcharged for helping them avoid foodwaste by offloading this extra stock.
I appreciate that fast food is go go go fast as possible, but when your own company messes up and lists a product that isn't available and you already have a customers money pocketed, you have to actually put some effort in to make the situation right. They could have called me, asked If I wanted to cancel the order, asked if certain things would be acceptable replacements.
