avenue cafe is a neighborhood cafe and coffee shop on st. charles avenue that serves locally roasted coffees, sandwiches, salads, fresh-squeezed juices, smoothies, and sweet & savory pastries.
Everything was delicious! I got the vegan bagel sandwich, but I got it with egg and regular cream cheese. Very filling , yummy, & high quality. The new orleans-style iced coffee is sweet without being over whelming and it complements the banana-nut muffin very well.

The new orleans-style iced coffee was the best coffee I may have ever had! The vegan bagel sandwich (we got regular cream cheese) was incredibly delicious! The croissant sandwich was delightful! The fresh squeezed juices were worth the price! The gluten free coconut-white chocolate chip macaroon was amazing! The granola with greek yogurt & berries was wonderful and not bitter or “chalky” like some greek yogurts. Everything was packaged so well too! My only regret is not ordering more things to try! An easy 5 out of 5 stars!

That was the most satisfying "sad Christmas lunch" I've ever had. The chicken salad sandwich was light and delicious. The new oleans-style iced coffee was the perfect sweetness and larger than anticipated. The bacon sweet potato biscuit is my new favorite food. Loved it, felt very merry after.

The bagel should have had more salmon and capers for the money. There were barely any onions and two small slices of tomatoes that I paid extra for. The blueberry muffin is not nearly as good as the reviews claim. I tasted like doctored Betty Crocker mix. I wouldn't order from here again.

Ordered a tropical smoothie and roasted mushroom & egg sandwich & highly recommend both! I was hungry enough & the prices were reasonable enough that I ordered two sandwiches for myself and I am glad I did. One sandwich is probably enough for a normal appetite but I was hungry and the sandwich was delicious enough that I was happy I had a 2nd one! I'm only in town for a day but next time I'm in New Orleans I will definitely order from this place again.
