Arroz Con Gandules were good. Empanadillas De Verde were super soggy, strange taste not good at all. Mofongo - Pollo Al Ajillo/casero / Chicken in Garlic Sauce/tomato Sauce, the mofongo itself was moist and delicious.The pollo Al Ajillo just ok. Maduro and Tostones were delicious. Recommendation to restaurant, stop putting lettuce on the bottom of your dishes. It gets soggy and gross. Rating out of 5...3.

based on reviews, I decided to order from CafeTal. I am.Colombiana and lived in Puerto Rico, so I was lookimg.forward to eating a good mofongo. the mofongo was NOT like a puertorican one, it missed taste,it was dry and was not garlicky as it should be. the meat was bland as well. on top, I paid for sweet plantains and they were not sent. I called and asked for it and was told my bill was going to be adjusted but it has not happened either. if you are in the Philly area, you should order from MI Tierra Colombiana. their food will never disappoint!

Entree was very delicious, with exquisite flavor authentic to Spanish cuisine. However, dish would have benefitted from additional chicken as it contained minimal amount of chicken throughout, protein seems more of an afterthought.

My husband is Boricua and he was not happy with the flavors. It lacked seasoning. The rice was not your typical Spanish brand rice, it was like Rice a Roni or Uncle Ben's rice. The Mofongo - Carne Frita / Fried Pork Chunks was soupy. Worst of all, the steak was gamy with tons of fat at you can see in the photo, terrible!! I do not recommend!
