My grandfather grew up in Louisiana and my dad went to Tulane in NOLA and both are gone. I miss Cajun food terribly. I've resisted trying this place because I didn't figure it would live up. Boy was I wrong. Both the gumbo (with shrimp and crawfish) and red beans and rice are phenomenal. As are the hush puppies. Omg, I've been missing out but I won't be anymore!

Absolutely fantastic food! The Johnny Steak & Frites - steak was perfectly cooked (rare) but nicely charred on the outside. Fries were fresh and crispy. The blue Cast Iron Cornbread was hot and flavorful, not too dry. Highly recommend!

I love the goat cheese Goat Cheese Relleno but it was very small this time . It's usually a good serving size but this time it was tiny . The Drunken Angel - is delicious , but insanely oily . I had to drain it before it was edible . The amount of oil was gross.

Shrimp & Grits - are delicious! Hearty, a little spicy and very flavorful. Loved the fried cheese grits and the collard greens are perfect as a side. Pickle Berry Pie has become one of my fav desserts.

New entree for me tonight-chicken and waffles. Delicious 1/2 bird glazed, grilled and juicy with a corn waffle. The vanilla buter was so tasty. Also got a side salad which was a large portion with incredible fresh lettuces, tomatoes, jicama and cucumbers. I've never ordered anything I havent liked.
