Ralph's Italian restaurant debuted in south Philadelphia in 1900 after he pooled all of his resources and rented a building at 901 Montrose street. They have gradually outgrown their space, so Frances…
I just moved back to Philly after 23 years (!) and I'm SO glad Ralph's is as spectacular as it used to be. And now they even deliver. I particularly love their mussels marinara (which I get fra diavolo) and their homemade cavatelli in red sauce (which I get with their excellent meatballs). There is nothing they make that isn't delicious.

I decided to get delivery this time. Last time I had dinner at Ralph's , a treasure of South Philly and well know Italian restaurant from the neighborhood I grew up in. Everything was good that I ordered. My Caesar Salad could've been better... the romaine wasn't fresh throughout the salad... dressing and croutons were delicious... yes I still ate it anyway. They do need to do better on that.
The “Best of Philly” Meatballs were fine but I know that they were not as tender as they should be... result in over mixing/rolling the meat while making them.
The Chicken Napoletano was absolutely delicious!!! My fav actually.
They were even nice enough to give me some Sarcones's Bread and butter.
Definitely better in house dining but still good

Overall the quality and flavor was not worth the price. We ordered pastas and chicken parm and they were all quite bland. Pastas were overcooked and mushy. Portions were large but still not worth the cost.

I ordered the Fetticine Alfredo. The portions are incredibly small for what you pay for just pasta and a tiny bit of sauce. The pasta was dry by the time I got my food (30 minutes after placing the order) and I had to add my own sauce to it. $15 for two small meatballs...never again.

Veal parm was overcooked and just unpleasant to eat. Meatballs are good, but 2 for $10 without ricotta was not a deal I will be getting again. Fast delivery and good marinara
