Their pad Thai is the best! I have even had it in Thailand and it is amazing from here! I will always reccomend this restaurant. Also, their chicken noodle soup has AMAZING noodles! I don't know what it is about them but they are addicting. They are long and thick kind of like udon noodles but not and they are so good. Their soup got me through covid! Love this place! 10-10 stars in my book!

Food tastes off. I've eaten a LOT of Chinese delivery and I've had a bit of everything here. Every single item tastes wrong. Maybe the water? Sauces are too thin. Soup too thick. Portions are hit or miss, often not even filling the container. Fried items are undercooked inside and hard outside. Beef sticks are dry. Sadly it's the only place in town that delivers.

9. General Tso's Chicken was delicious as well as 12. Orange Chicken. The Vegetable Roll (1 piece) was the best I ever had. It's so nice to find an actually good Chinese restaurant in the area. The delivery was fast, I think they have one of their employees pick up the dashes so we can get out food extra fast. delivery time decreased by 20 minutes, they called to confirm. We will definitely be ordering again!

This was my first time eating food from the relatively new Golden Phoenix. Much like it's namesake, the figurative ashes of whatever establishment dwelled there before gave birth to a truly magnificent entity! I have extremely high standards for Chinese food that can sometimes dance on the border unrealistic. This stems from a never ending chase after the perfect quality of a local restaurant from my childhood. Believe me when I say nostalgia never tasted so good. Well my faceless friends I believe that chase has come to an abrupt end! The cooks of the golden Phoenix have captured a dream with their passion. the vegetable lo mein was filled with vegetables as fresh as the noodles were perfectly cooked. The dish also was not drowning in the oil in which it was cooked. An all too common mistake made in lesser eateries. the orange beef was crispy as advertised and it's sauce complimented the white rice in an almost inexplicable ecstasy. Lastly I tasted the general tso chicken. the dish is as common a staple in Chinese cuisine as rice and somehow they took the hat is common and turned it into something of rare quality. I could have eaten a bucket of it with a smile. I will certainly return! For my taste buds look forward to the wondrous surprises the future holds. Fellow Chinese food lovers and connoisseurs, I declare Golden Phoenix in coal city Illinois our new mecca!

I either get the 9. General Tso's Chicken, 12. Orange Chicken, any of the Fried Rice, Beef Lo Mein(Qt), or the Pork Lo Mein (Qt) and every time I order from here, it is absolutely delicious every time. The owner is super sweet and so friendly, along with the yummy food he makes is my reason for the 5 stars. Gotta try it to love it!! :)
