I was so excited to finally place an order after I realised this place should have the perfect burger for me. Note: price disproportionately affects "perfection" right now, so ordering food doesn't happen anymore. Only got to splurge bc was travelling.
Combed through every detail of menu and selected location on route w highsst rating. I loved the toppings options and selected most of them. Can't do gluten so was pleasantly surprised to see bowl and lettuce wrap options. The toppings i ordered should have made a colourful core to the rather large mound...at first glance, this this thing was the size of /looked like a softball sized head of iceberg lettuce. The other thing my toppings should have made abundantly clear: hot, spicy, yes, please! Don't forget the hot sauce (if nothing else gets there, at least drip the hot sauce until it floats or spontaneously melts the wrapping. What I got was 2 flavourful but dry patties glued together in a dense glob by the American "cheese" (i wish that had never been invented. Real cheese is just yum, whereas melted cheese flavoured food-like plastic is just ick but i knew what was getting. Cheese-ish is better than nothing. So the lettuce, mushrooms, onions, tomato, pickles, relish = way too much water content for a burger w/o being dried as much as possible + no bun...finally, wrapped in iceberg =more watery, so flavour was the meat char (good thing i loke that alot), the diced(why?) onions that should have been grilled to dehydrate and bc that was the name of topping. Dices dont go on slippery greasy burger. There was not tomato. The jalapeños were fresh, not pickled (yay) but tasted like green pepper (also watery and zero spicy). There WAS mayo (not ordered), there was a drop of mustard sloshing in the puddle. But the thing that has prompted the whole review: NO HOT SAUCE. It broke my heart. Everyone was nice and restroom was clean, but if someone wants hot sauce, mustard, jalepenos, etc, it's a big deal when the spice is in the negative range. It's kindof a deal breaker. But I will try another location someday. Maybe one day, real cheese will be an option. A girl can dream, right?
