The skewers we got are great, as always. It's a bit of a shame that much of their menu isn't available for delivery, but the skewers are almost all there, and of course they're the whole reason to pick Noren. The prices are… about what you'd expect from a yakitori izakaya in SF, but they often have a deal of some kind going on DoorDash.
For specifics on what we ordered this time: I ordered the Chicken Heart, which we'd never tried before, and… everything in the yakitori/chicken section of the menu is always amazing, but this was something special. It explodes in your mouth as you bite into it, but the interior is meaty rather than chewy. And the flavor is perfect, with just a tiny dash of the sansyo. The Scallop always has a perfect silky, melty texture, and just enough seasoning in the butter to bring out the natural flavor. Out of all the non-chicken skewers, this and the beef tongue (which I didn't order this time) are the reliable standouts. The Beef Short Rib, which I've never gotten before, is maybe a bit more straightforward, but still, it's a great cut, juicy without being overly fatty, perfectly cooked, and it seasons nicely with the chili and sansyo. The Kurobuta sausage is definitely the least interesting thing we tried, but still not bad. It doesn't have that snappy arabiki texture (it's also one longanisa-sized sausage instead of four tiny ones as shown on the menu, so maybe this isn't what it's normally like?), which means it's basically just a high-quality, well-grilled mini hot dog.
