Anjappar, which was founded in Chennai in 1964, was the first to bring the delicacies of the famous Chettiars to the rest of the globe.
Anjappar's humble origins began in Chennai more than 50 years ag…
Tasty authentic South Indian food. But expensive.
Not nonsense ingredients like cream or anything used here. Only authentic clean ingredients that brings that crisp taste.

Terrible food for the price. Ordered Special Anjappar Chicken - Masala and didn't taste good at all. Also the quantity is very small for the price they are charging. There is way better and cheaper food in the Bay Area.

Chappathi with Chettinad Chicken Masala was very bad in terms quality and qty as well, chappathi was very hard and curry was like left curry without chicken pieces.

I love anjappar restaurantbiryani and a few other dishes but the Anjappar Mutton Meal was just not what you expect. Not a value for money . They give everything in 3 or 4oz and weirdly todays meal had no taste. Mutton curry in an 8oz is fine with quantity but tastes bland n just watery. Rice comes in 16oz but chapati is the frozen parata. Would not buy the meal again.

The Uttapam was nice but the amount of onion, tomatoes and chilli was lacking and hence felt more like a thick dosa. Idlys were soft and fluffy and really good along with a great tasting thick sambar. The worst things on the plate were all the chutneys (pic attached) - none of them had any tempering (how do you mess up coconut chutneys being a south Indian restaurant!), and because of that it ruined the entire meal since these chutneys are the heart and soul of these dishes.
