This past week I embarked on a journey to determine who has the best egg tarts in San Jose. After trying about 9 different egg tarts from 9 different establishments, I have determined that CA Balehouse has the BEST EGG TARTS by far. The pandan one is my personally favorite. And if you aren't afraid of a lil durian that one is the bomb as well

Fresh, not too sweet, light and moist, and reasonably priced. love these guys. Also with Singapore being my hometown, I really appreciate the kaya and pandan items (all of them!)
Egg tarts are suitably flakey and not too greasy, while the custard is nice and light and jiggly to the bite.
Honeycomb Cake is also jiggly to the bite!

Didnt really like the Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte because it did not have a strong matcha taste and the strawberry was a not my favorite. But all the bread was good. The pandan choux is a fave. I love the service everytime I go, and they were so nice they gave us a freebie with our wait.

Great service and delicious treats! Really one of the best places for baked goods in the bay. The portions are well sized and it's always fresh smelling and tasting! I'd definitely come back again.

The Honeycomb Cake was good but the portion was really small!! It literally was just 2 bites. I dont know if thats normal or a mistake bc this was my first time ordering from here. Also ordered the Guava Filled Mochi Cake and there was barely any guava. The Black Sesame Choux had too much filling and was too sweet for me. My fave was the Banana Mochi Cake !! Overall it was alright and I plan on adding this bakery to my DoorDash rotation.
