• 26-01-04I wish the other JGumbos stores were the same as this one (Clifton store on Ludlow). Toasted garlic bread instead of plain untoasted bread, and they have amazing Eggnog Bread Pudding . The Tortilla Chips portion is smaller, but that's a small price to pay.

• 24-08-09Oh my god. I've been wanting to get J Gumbo's for a long long time. This did not disappoint. I got the Voodoo Chicken and Drunken Chicken for the Choose 2 and some Miss Vickie's Kettle Chips for a side. I wish I could eat this every night. The rice is soft and thicker, it blends perfectly with the chicken and it's not chewy. I could eat this without chewing if I really wanted. I added jalapeños, cheese, and sour cream. The jalepeños add a nice flavor and the sour cream makes it even creamier. I will be ordering again and again. Also not sure if it's supposed to be included but I got a piece of french bread! Absolutely wonderful food, I've never written a review on DD but I had to after eating this. God Bless J Gumbo's!!!!!!!!! Good portions too, thank goodness I get to eat it again for lunch tomorrow <3

• 24-07-29This had to be the worst Red Beans & Rice I have ever had. The Beans were mushy. The shrimp seemed like it was from a can and not seasoned. Popeyes Red Beans & Rice put this to shame at half the price.

• 26-05-20I did the Choose 3... got shrimp etouffee, gumbo, red beans and rice. I'll start with the good: -felt portion was fair for price - arrived plenty warm and accurate -solid amount of shrimp in etouffee, was pleasantly surprised -plenty of the sauces, so I wasnt left with plain rice - Bread Pudding was A++++, perfect amount of sweet and cinnamon - French bread was fresh, perfect size, good butter:bread ratio
Not as good: Pick 3 tasted fine, nothing bad, but was lacking in the flavor department, especially for creole/cajun-centric cuisine. I wasnt expecting a ton of flavor from a chain-place, but none of the 3 had even what I'd call "Louisianna lite" vibes. Again, wasn't bad at all, I just didnt get the Creole/Cajun fix from it, Id hoped for. I give 10/10 for everything the indvl restaurant has control over, but 5.5/10 for "corporate's" recipes.

• 23-04-14I wasnt feeling good and this was the perfect meal to make me feel better. The Red Beans & Rice was just the right spice level and was the perfect portion. I wasn't still hungry and wasn't super full; just right. And the Bread Pudding was absolutely perfect.10/10.
