There is never a bad time to go to Jalan Alor. We have been there with friends, got takeaway with family for every occasion, cosied up with jalan alor on rainy nights in... I have ordered the Hainan Chicken Rice and Char Keow Teow more times than I can count. It's the ultimate comfort and gives you everything you need for a great price. My mum worships this place, and she's a tough Malaysian to please.

The food was ok, the laksa could have had more protein and vegetables... it was 80-90% noodles but tasted ok

The char kway teow was absolutely delicious with great wok hei charring. However the Hainanese chicken rice felt a bit lacking, it would have been much better if it came with the chilli garlic sauce!

The food was fine, but the prawns in our hokkien mee tasted off, as they had a really strong ammonia taste.
