The food was great as always but the order wasn't correct in a small issue. The carnitas are the best anywhere. Beautiful simplicity and perfect home made corn tortillas. I've, been going there for that dish for many years. In fact, the first time was just after NOPA set Nopalito up. The kitchen chefs were so knocked out by the authentic Mexican dinners that were being cooked for the early staff dinners led to the idea that the cooks should get their own restaurant. A very wise decision.

Gorditas de Gorditas de Picadillo,tasty and well presented. I've hadthem a few times, always fresh and high quality. Love the thickand unique Side Chips. The Whole Beans are very good too. Nopalito is high end quality Mexican food. A Def destination. Will do it again and again..

They have the absolute BEST carnitas meat in SF (and LA for that matter)! I've always made it a point to try and find the best carnitas @ numerous Mexican restaurants anywhere I've lived. I used to think Lares restaurant in Los Angeles was the holy grail.... until I found nopalito! After trying almost 21 Mexican restaurants both in person and/or on DoorDash, I give the carnitas (and their version of Mexican rice) 10/10

The soup was diapp . As it was a great deal of broth, a fewpie of meat and negligab amountsof hominy, which is kindof tje pointof pozo . Looked like stuff was just ladle out of a large pot, so you go what y got. The condiments, cabbage etc, were a l wilted. All in all not a go value for the cost.

I absolutely love the taste of Nopalito food and have enjoyed the restaurant in person for years.
The last few times I ordered, the food was incredbly overpriced. I spent almost $20 for what amounted to a half a veggie quesadilla with almost no cheese on it. The Carnitas were $30 and have gotten a lot smaller over the years. Used to be enough for two meals now it's more like one small meal.
I want to love you, Nopalito but it's hard to justify the cost for takeout. Maybe will reserve this for an in-person experience and order takeout elsewhere.
