I've been a regular customer of Shizen Ya since they opened their Broadway and Hemlock restaurant (which sadly closed recently due to owner retirement). It's my go-to for Japanese food. It tastes really good and is healthy. My fave dishes are the vegetable roll, tempeh roll, the deepfried eggplant (maybe not as healthy but it's amazing), pan-fried veg udon, Geisha roll, and the pumpkin pudding. Even their tea tastes better than any other place I've been.

Firstly, it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. The curried beans and rice was awful and way too salty - yuck. I threw it in the garbage. Now the Nigiri salmon sushi was good but so tiny. Including tax, I paid ten bucks for two small pieces. That's not right. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing on the menu.

I'm usually motivated to order from Shizena because I'm craving the Org Tofu & Avocado Saladcad it is so delicious and healthy, I love it. All of the food from this restaurant is high quality and makes me feel so good.

Honestly one of the best tasting sushi places out there. Always super fresh (I find some places the rice is stale tasting). The brown rice is so good.
