• 26-07-25Ordered the wonton soup based on reviews and the fact that it's so expensive. I thought it would be different than your average wonton soup. It was NOT. It just came with extra noodles but there wasn't anything special about the broth, the meat had gristle and tasted weird and I got absolutely no bok choy in my soup. Overall, I could've gotten the same thing for $6 anywhere else.

• 26-08-12The portions are different from the picture. Don't assume because you paid a higher price that you are getting a proportional amount. Sesame was middle of the road taste. Crab Rangoon / 蟹角 , egg Crispy Pork Egg Rolls / 猪肉卷 and sesame balls were below average -mostly a lack of filling. Really surprised because of the high rating.

• 26-08-01The BEST hot and sour soup in town! Always in a big bowl if you go get it in person but when delivered it's a little less but well worth the taste

• 25-12-05The 9. Four-Color Vegetable Noodles / 四色菜炒面 is so my go to. The flavor is fantastic and I love the selection of vegetables (peapods, carrots, water chestnuts, lotus root and onion), especially the lotus root (that and the water chestnut... the crunch and the way they very subtly pick up the flavors is so good!!). This is the first time they used like a jalapeno type pepper to add spiciness (as opposed to the usual hard red pepper) and I hope they always do... it added that pepper flavor I wasn't expecting and really liked it!
My only constant complaint is that I wish that there were at least 15-20% more vegetables. Personally I'd be happy if it was 60% veggies to 40% noodles ... right now it's about 85% noodles to 15% vegetables. It's a LOT of noodles and they're really delicious, but once you run out of vegetables, I become less excited to finish the noodles.
The Sweet Sesame Balls (8) / 芝麻球 and Vegetable Spring Rolls(4) / 菜卷 are also pretty consistent. However, with this order, mine were a little undercooked. Still edible but ... just almost on the verge of not.
However, no matter what, Taigu is consistently such a great place!

• 25-06-27You will not find better fried chinese noodles ANYWHERE else in Madison. Taigu is the undisputed champ. The variety, huge portions, and overall quality of their offerings are second to none. I recommend 12. Spicy Ginger Beef Noodles / 姜葱辣牛炒面, which has been my go-to for years. Hot, super fresh, and sure to satisfy even the biggest of appetites.
