TamBo's Kitchen is an African-themed restaurant on Massachusetts' south shore. Our goal is to provide a welcoming ambiance where guests may enjoy delectable and mouth-watering food.
Our menu is influ…
Tambo's has gotten more consistent lately. I still wish the prices were more affordable given the portion size because then I would get it more often. spending about $30-40 per meal when its just egusi and fufu is wild. but with that said, its the only place near by that I can greet good quality and fresh tasting Nigerian food. Highly recommend trying their Mellon Sauce (Egusi) with Pounded Yam!

Had Mellon Sauce (Egusi) last week, craved more today. Full after finishing half. This time, had less palm oil and beef was tough to chew. Pounded Yam had some dry flour/powder not mixed in, but still good. Less fresh on Tuesday compared to Thursday. I like, but think there is room for improvement.

Mellon Sauce (Egusi): savory, mildly spicy, with pounded yam the portion is more than enough for one person, possibly two. Beef was firm on the outside, but was yielding, rich, and satisfying to chew (easily pinched apart with two fingers). Personally, I would order again with beef instead of assorted meats (but that's just preference).
Meat Pie: one piece, dry, small amount of filling, would not order again
Puff Poff: four pieces, chewy, dense, not too sweet (just right), would order again

I never comment just put start no matter how good and this place can be hit or miss with the fish.
BUT!!! The Egusi was everything! So good full of flavor large portions. I would recommend you try it if you haven't. The best meal I've ever gotten from any restaurant hands down!

I got the Mellon Sauce (Egusi). They gave me a tiny bit of stew with meat I can't eat. They gave me something I didn't order.. The stew wasn't good and had no flavor. Go to Suya Joint if you want good food.
