I tried this chain once before, in a much better state, and was not at all impressed. I decided to give the local franchise a try anyway. I have to say, this bummertown one was head and shoulders above the first one we tried, based on exactly two experiences. If we were not running for our lives from Californicator's trying to turn my hometown into Oakland, CA circa 1985 (fast food served through bulletproof glass), I would probably be ordering a lot as long as they keep this quality level up. IMHO, this is a chain that either delivers what the name promises, or it doesn't. I say this one does.

I'm very disappointed in this restaurant. My sandwich was mostly bread, and the little meat I did get was mostly fat. The biggest issue was there was no "melt" because there was little cheese. Also, I ordered the cheesecake desert and it seemed to be frozen. Overall, a total waste of money!

This is the first time I've ordered the Bacon Me Crazy Melt - Combo and it will be the last.
Quality control is the issue - there's enough ingredients to justify toothpicks to keep the sandwich together, but they just throw it in the box. On top of that, the crust on one side of the sandwich was peeled off (potentially eaten?). The freshness sticker was still on the box, so I suspect that's how the store decided to send it (gross).
The Hot Mess Melt - Combo was okay - just know that it's hit or miss with whether or not you get onions (even if you check the "no onion" option).
The Classic Meltdown - Combo NEVER arrives with the cheese melted. If you don't mind that, then this sandwich is decent.
Fries (in general) from this store are almost always cold/soft (don't taste fresh). The way they portion them out too is super inconsistent. We almost always have to throw them in the air fryer.
If this wasn't one of the few places open late, we wouldn't eat here anymore 🤷♀️.

I was pretty pleased with my Breakfast N' Bread Melt - Combo--- the eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly, and I felt the sandwich was a decent size, good value for the price. However, my boyfriend barely tasted any barbecue on his Giddy Up Melt - Combo and it had disappointingly little brisket. The Treatin' Myself Melt was interesting and the pound cake slices were slightly stale, but overall not terrible. My side of fruit didn't appear the freshest either as several banana slices had already begun to brown over. We both enjoyed the onion rings though; they were large and tasty.

The Hot Mess Melt is my favorite sandwich. It's the only way you can have slow cooked steak pieces in cheese on a sandwich. The Onion Rings are always crunchy and good even after cold which never happens.
