Domenico De Marco, or "Dom", opened Di Fara Pizza in 1965 after emigrating to Brooklyn from the Province of Caserta in Italy. Before Di Fara …
I was on vacation to Brooklyn and heard that Di Fara was one of the best pizza places in NY. I ordered the Classic Pie and was not disappointed. The pie was absolutely delicious. The crust was firm with a slight flop, cheese was excellent, sauce very tasty, and meat veggies were sparce but just enough. I will definitely be coming back during future trips.

Comes with a tough reputation to back-up. Not sure anything can live up to all that hype but the pizza was excellent. I preferred the regular slice over the square but both were very good. The sauce on the square is top notch, though. Crust was perfect. Overall great pizza.

For a place as renowned as Di Fara I expected to be at least happy, but this was disappointing. The sauce was delicious, but the crust was heavily burnt on the bottom and resulted in much of the pizza being inedible.

Square Pie was not great. Sauce was falling off. It was way too chunky / rustic not enough cheese. Could have been bad delivery but will never get a square pie there again.
