Really liked the King Yen Special Chicken 🌶️ , which sits on a garnish of spinach. The spinach is REALLY good in the sauce-- I'd call it a mix between a szechuan and general tzos sauce. I wish they had more vegetables in the meal or a basic vegetable side for purchase (instead of rice). Instead I ordered the dinner portion of Steamed Assorted Vegetables. A nice mix of steamed, unflavored peas, spinach, bok choy, and broccoli, but way too expensive ($20).

The best cozy comfort Chinese food in Berkeley. Huge portions that hit the spot every time. Love King Yen Special anything and shredded pork and they do all classics well! Family's been coming here for generations.

Genuinely one of the best Chinese spots around. Kung Pao Fish Fillet 🌶️ was absolutely delicious and had plenty of geat veggies

i have been coming here since i was a child and i truly love it the food is excellent and fresh no matter what dish you choose to get;) and the portions are great i always have leftovers for a few days after. decide to choose to fulfill your hunger.... 100000000000/10 for sure.

I've been going here for years and was shocked - hopefully a one off- but the food was bland and in particular the Hunan Beef 🌶️was terrible. It was way over tenderized -it had a consistency of mayonnaise not meat and was totally flavorless. In any case probably not the last time I'll order from them, but at $25 a dish you have to use good ingredients not try to hide flavors and consistency with checmicals.
