• 01/05/24Without fail, their Chicken Katsu Curry arrives with impeccably crispy katsu, even after delivery. And the balance between beef roux and rice is consistently flawless, making every bite a delight. Undoubtedly the best Japanese curry in the city!

• 18/12/23I rarely write reviews, but the Pork Katsu Curry here is just as good as what I had in Japan. Curry is rich and flavorful with a nice kick and with a perfect consistency.
They even separated the pork and rice/curry to make sure it stayed crispy during delivery. Amazing.

• 30/12/23I got the Chicken Katsu Curry and it was good. The chicken could have been more plump and juicy, however overall taste and katsu was on point. I liked how when they delivered it the chicken was separated from the curry and rice.

• 26/09/25The flavor is outstanding, slightly sweet slightly spicy, the Chicken Katsu Curry crust was extra crispy but the chicken inside was still juicy. Portions were perfect, I feel filled but not overly full, I will order again

• 16/10/21The Cadillac of Japanese curries, Hinoya is the best Japanese curry in San Francisco, hands down. There is simply no competition. The curry roux (both vegetarian and non-veg) is thick, with rich flavors permeating every luscious drop. All of their toppings, from the perfectly fried ebi (shrimp) to the scrumptious croquettes are wonderful compliments to what I consider to be the best Japanese curry I have ever had anywhere. You will never be disappointed with their selection of toppings, sides, and commitment to consistent quality.
