• 07/12/23Sorry, I dug into it already! Super crispy and soft which is hard for fried fish sometimes. The sauce is so zesty. I've only visited once before, but first take out order. Beignets are to die for and not pictured, a messy but delish eat.

• 27/07/25Poor House makes some of the best sandwiches around. Sending the meat separate from the rest of the sandwich is a genius move and insures you never get a soggy sandwich. And when they say Cajun Fries they ain't kidding! Have a drink handy! Always happy to order from them and will definitely order again.

• 04/08/23I was really excited to try this food and was sorely disappointed with the outcome. Couldn't stomach the Fried Seafood Platter. The crawfish pasta looked good and portion was big but still unappetizing. Overall for price not worth it, pictures are a bit deceiving

• 25/02/23The gumbo bowl was TINY. Absolutely not worth $16. The pasta was $4 more and was about 5 times the amount of food. Pasta was great as always.

• 17/01/26My favorite thing on the menu a Poor House Bistro is the Fried Shrimp po boy. Today however, there was way too much sauce! We couldn't taste the shrimp. I'd recommend asking for it on the side. We had to take the top layer of bread off and wipe the shrimp off with a napkin to find them. Sad because this sandwich is usually really great.
We also got the Poor House Salad. The lettuce tasted chemically. Not sure if it was from being in a bag or plastic container too long, it was a bit off putting. All the ingredients looked fresh and the other components of the salad were great after we replaced the lettuce.
