• 23/09/24Love their " STEAMED RICE DU.PLINGS " / a k a. "" IDLIS "" ...STEAMED Fresh & Hot served with SAMBAR Lentil Curry, Coconut Chutney & Hot Tomato Chutney. Always a Good Vegetarian Restaurant. Carrot Halwa / Grated Carrit Dessert - Good Taste, but not a Great Quantity ! Thus the 4 Stars !!!
Have Eaten - In Before. Madras Coffee is Good !!!!

• 10/04/26The VADAS( Fried Lentil DONUTS) were FANTASTIC, as was the Potato Filling in the DOSA CREPE wellspiced and not PUNGENT.
Ms.ASHA who answered the Fone was Polite and Aquirscent to work with my Special Needs.
They're a GREAT OLD BERKELEY VEG. SOUTH Indian Eatery w/ AUTHENTIC FARE !!!
Recommend...Coconut Chutney always "" FRESH & GOOD """ !!!!

Kindly Request Your Restaurant Supply to bring u "Curry Leaves ".I do feel the Absence of those - in the Palya / Curried Potato Filling .....
Inside the Masala DOSA Crepes.....
All the other Chutneys and Sambar Lentil Soup were ' Just Superb & Fresh As Usual !!!!!!
Their Hospitality & South Indian Cuisine are Worth a Visit !!!
Btw - The Bombay Spice House nearby sometimes have ' The Curry Leaves ' !!!!!!

• 12/04/232 Piece Samosa were very good. The Spinach Masala Dosa were packed cut in half on top of each so they stuck together and completely came apart. The Kadhai Bhindi was over cooked and extremely salty. I threw it away

• 30/01/25Their ' SAMBHAR ' , South Indian Lentil Soup on the Side is EXQUISITE ' !!! It had quartered squash in there & roasted black mustard seeds !!! All the Chutneys were Gr8 as were the ' Vada ' ( Fried Lentil Donuts ). The ' Curried Potato Filling inside the Dosa / Crepe was good as well, but the Dosa / Savory Crepe could be more ' Brown ' to my liking.
All in All though their South Indian Vegetarian Cuisine is a ' Gift to Downtown Berkeley '. Quite Unique. Have dined in and had their Thaali combination Lunch Plate & Madras Coffee.
The place is a Gem & Staff are Friendly & Obliging.
Highly recommend this ' Local Small Business' post Covid - 19 for genuine South Indian Cuisine !!!!
