• 08/02/24David's Arroz Caldo was the perfect comfort food for a cold day when feeling under the weather! It's more peppery than I expected, which gives it an extra warming effect. I love the food at Yang's Kitchen and their delivery is no exception to their high bar for quality ingredients, delicious flavors, and earth-friendliness (they use compostable packaging!)

• 11/05/24While chef Chris Yang and co-owner Maggie Ho pull from their Chinese and Taiwanese heritages, they also lean on Japanese flavors and local farmers’ markets for their distinctive menu at this downtown Alhambra spot. Case in point: creamy locally made Meiji tofu crowned with trout roe, avocado, and house-made ponzu. Or Zumi’s loco moco, a nod to Hawai’i, with a breaded and fried beef patty, napa cabbage kraut, cherry tomato confit, and mushroom gravy. There are classic Chinese dishes, like braised tofu, cold sesame noodles, and salt and pepper chicken wings, for those with nostalgic hankerings. The thin, lacy cornmeal mochi pancakes are made for sharing.

• 13/05/24The amount of vegetables was small. The steak was tasty and done as requested. The main issue was the food arrived lukewarm, not really the fault of the restaurant or the driver because it was on time. Better containers might help .
