Established in 2018 in Michigan, Culantro is a vibrant restaurant offering a taste of Peru in Ann Arbor. Indulge in authentic Peruvian flavors, from savory ceviche to hearty lomo saltado, all prepare…
The amount of garlic sauce on the bowl was very heavy and there was very little chicken. Very pricey for the small amount of food. The side of rice was good, but, over 5$ for a side of rice? The chimichurri was almost too salty to eat, even when mixed up with the rice. order did arrive quickly.

Alfajores was good but didn't realize it's only one cookie for $6. Carnipapas was delicious. tender steak. Chicha Morada was soooo good. perfect sweetness and flavor

I got the Lomo Saltado with a green sauce . Green Extra Sauces was spicy (although it reads mild) but I liked it . The Lomi was so good! The meet was great (not overcooked) and flavorful.
I would have like a few more French fries in it but overall will come back! Might be a new favorite spot

The Flan was the best I have ever had. It was a bigger portion than I expected. The Culantro Bowl was SO above and beyond. It all tasted super fresh, and extremely delicious. I've never had anything like it. I would without a doubt order again.

so for like 4+ months i have been ordering this exact same thing a minimum of 1x weekly + omg written instructions just became an option = i finally got to tell them what my lil culantros heart desires: PLEASE USE LESS OIL :) Cooked well-done please, lightly charred at most yanno?" I love the passion fruit juice- consistently reliable ever since they figure out hou to stop getting plantain grease in my drinks (the oil i p unnecessary sometimes ngl!)
so why 4/5?
- As you can see below; the charring is fine and the amount of oil is.. acceptable. The issue is the lack of it being fully cooked: only 1 was completely 100% cooked(that i already ate lol). The rest of these are raw on and hard on the inside- like if giant ultra green underripe bananas were wet cement. you can even see how the raw parts are lighter than the yellow.
Now.. I have no complaints about their oil reduction.. honestly I prefer they'd use even LESS oil but if it means I'm getting served raw starches then I would rather just dab/squeeze excess juice off augh lol
