"This place is stupid good. Ive only had the E01. Braised Beef Noodle Soup but those noodles are so so good, I just keep coming back for more! The noodles alone ar so fresh, have a wonderful chewy texture that pairs perfectly with the richness of the broth and that beef is so tender. Going to keep trying dishes but this soup is perfect! "

"This is the best restaurant! Lots of choices 199. Classic Fried Rice is one of the best I have had. 160. Classic Sweet & Sour Prawns were delicious. Not too much batter and the sauce was great. 193. Traditional Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Sauce * just delicious. This place is a well oiled machine."
"The walnut chicken is the best thing to ever happen to me and my girlfriend. We cannot get enough of it, we had to set a rule to only order from here on certain pay days cus it's just too good. We had some left over and during my whole shift at work, I just kept imagining that walnut chicken to push me through.
Their chow mein and fried rice are fresh and extremely tasty as well! The fried rice was not too dry, just perfectly right. The veggies in both of these dishes are perfectly balanced with the rest of the meal!"

"This is one of the best restaurants I've ever visited, hands down. I came to visit Oakland for a work trip, and during my stay I found myself coming back to Shooting Star Cafe well over four times in a two day period. Each time I got something different, and every item was delicious, refreshing, and made me want to keep coming back. In particular I loved their lychee sago bowl with mixed fruit, and all of their drinks were exactly what I was hoping for. "
"We had several dishes that were delicious. Pork Spareribs Clay Pot Rice / 㰖角排骨煲仔飯 had great flavors with Bok Choy and bowl full of rice, too much rice. Shredded Pork Pan Fried Noodle / 肉絲煎麵arrived with pan noodles on separate container. Shredded pork could also be great as a soup dish! Combination Meat Chow Mein / 雜錦炒麵was ok nothing special and almost lacked that wholesome flavor for authentic chinese food. Fried Prawns / 炸蝦was cooked perfectly and tasted great! Popcorn Chicken / 鹽酥雞 was seasoned well! Beef Chow Fun / 乾炒牛河 was surprisingly very good with good flavors. Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings / 椒鹽雞中翼 were ok and our least favorite, very oily and arrived soggy. "

"The Beef Chow Fun (乾炒牛河 ) was perfect. The beef was so soft and the noodles were cooked really nicely. The Shrimp Dumpling (金牡丹蝦餃皇) (4pcs) was so great too!!! Definitely order from Peony."
"We had a very large order for some VIPs at a local event and had it delivered. I gave the restaurant a call after ordering online and spoke with Iris. She was amazing and said they would make it very special for our guests. Everything came out perfect, and exactly on time! Our delivery driver was also a winner. He called to let me know the food was there, and didn't leave until I verified everything was correct.
The restaurant packaged the food well, and it was easy to display as-is. Everyone loved the food, the portions were plentiful, and the piggy custard buns were a huge hit! Could not be more happy with Peony Seafod Restaurant. Consider giving them your business for your next party. I'd definitely work with them again. Could not be happier."

"very spicy but flavorful. would definitely order again :) i poured the soup in a bowl but there is much more than that. it was a good portion and packaged with care too! "
"The noodles were okay but the sauce was just oil. It was as if they dumped a cup of just oil over the noodles. Also I paid $2 to add tofu and they just added 1x1inch slices on top. I have had this dish at multiple other restaurants and this was by far the worst. Very disappointing. "

"After a week in hospital, I was advised to eat protein and vegetable rich foods. The War Won Ton Soup, Hot and Sour Soup fit the bill. My husband rebelled in the Honey Walnut Shrimp. Delicious. If I weren't coming off a long illness, I add just a smudge more "hot" to the hot and sour soup. Portions are hearty and eager to sample more dishes."
"Second time trying this restaurant. The fish dish was fine, veggies were crisp, nice amount of fish, but it was almost too salty to eat. The soup is soy/brown sauce heavy so there isn't much flavor other than that. Not a fan. Won't order from here again, but fans of sauce-heavy, saltier dishes I think will enjoy it."

"Salt & Pepper Pork Chop is really tasty. I was really surprised by this order. I didn't expect much because all the Chinese restaurants I've tried in CA are nothing to write home about as they are all soggy and basically tasteless. This time is totally different. And this is not an exaggeration at all. For sure I will order it again in the future. I ate quite a bit from the box in one go. Not healthy. An occasional indulgence is acceptable, though.
Wonton Soup is as expected."
"I don't know if l'll be ordering from Little China again any time soon.
The last two dishes I ordered (Mongolian beef and fish) were four-fifths onions, and undercooked onions at that.
I suppose that they're trying to save money by serving onions instead of protein, but yuck. Who wants a dish that's almost all onions?
And the wor wonton soup was just mediocre. Bland. And the wonton filling was icky. It just tasted off."

"Juicy Pork Burger / 腊汁肉夹馍 is delicious I love the chopped jalapeno and the meat texture is so soft. the bread is done perfectly"
"Was very excited to try this place. I'll start with some praise: the beef is incredibly tender and flavorful. The garlic cucumber was a tad sweet but still very nice.
Now for the bad: the noodles are (at least delivered) only so-so. Almost feels like an Italian dried pasta. Worse, this was meant to be spicy - so I was expecting a fair bit of oil and chili, but it really was quite flavorless apart from the beef. I added a healthy dose of chili crisp to bring it to life, but for the quite expensive price point I was expecting more.
Decent portion size, but again - you're paying quite a bit for it. Probably won't order again, but might stop by the restaurant to see if it cooks up better fresh than delivered."

"Really liked the King Yen Special Chicken 🌶️ , which sits on a garnish of spinach. The spinach is REALLY good in the sauce-- I'd call it a mix between a szechuan and general tzos sauce. I wish they had more vegetables in the meal or a basic vegetable side for purchase (instead of rice). Instead I ordered the dinner portion of Steamed Assorted Vegetables. A nice mix of steamed, unflavored peas, spinach, bok choy, and broccoli, but way too expensive ($20)."

"It's steam table fast-food Chinese, but it's good at it The Combo 3 (Rice or Chow Mein & 3 item) is a great deal: the fried rice is delicious and the green beans with green bean chicken have the perfect texture. While the Dry Fried Ribs(Small) are tasty, they have a lot of small "knuckle"-bones, so have a way to deal with those."
"The only thing good about our order was the steamed rice. The prawns chow mein had only 1 prawn. The sweet and sour were neither sweet nor sour. The chicken was very fatty, and the breading mushy. "The Pork Intestines 卤大肠 are always such a hit—even with my kid. Can eat them over hot rice but honestly no one waits for the rice to get made most of the time. They just get gobbled up as soon as they get here."
"One of the worst I've ever had. The chicken gizzards on skewers all seemed to be just the really tough connective tissue parts. Way over-spiced probably to hide the bland hard rubber effect. My cat wouldn't even eat those. The order of potatoes was just 5 or 6 thinly sliced cross sections, like chips, half crispy around the edges, half soft in the middle. same bad spicing. For $6? The Cilantro Beef therefore compared as "best". And not spiced. What can go wrong with some fresh cilantro? The small portion of pieces of beef would've been okay, if it all wasn't totally covered with some tasteless oil. Why? And, again, over-priced.
All told, SO bad I'm not going to try them again. Over $20. Couldn't make myself bother eating it all. And I missed out on having a real meal"

"I normally love sesame balls, but Sesame Ball (4 pc) were super small and tasted so strange and stale/off that I ended up spitting my bite out. (Combo) Sweet & Sour Pork was an okay deal in terms of portion size, you could easily split it out into dinner for two people, but it was all so unrelentingly salty and greasy, with way too much squishy dough around the pork. Aside from green onions in the fried rice there were no vegetables that I could see, and no pineapple or onion pieces in the sweet and sour pork. I couldn't finish half of it. I won't be ordering from here again, sadly."

"Excellent dining experience! The Wonton Soup 净云吞 is a classic favorite served with a juicy pork filing. We tried the Deep Fried Fresh Oysters 炸鲜蚝 which were very fresh and tasted great with the Boiled Seasonal Vegetables 白灼时蔬 The Fried Dumplings and Egg Rolls are the perfect finger food/snack paired with plenty of dipping sauces were crispy and light. Love all the generous portions. This place is great for its Steamed BBQ Pork Buns 叉烧包,, simply irresistible!! Will be back for the Dough Stick 油条 which were a delightful surprise, a light and airy treat."
"The Shrimp Noodle roll and chicken claws (you only get 4) tasted good for the value. Unfortunately the short ribs were chopped so thinly that it felt like I only had scraps of meat on the bones. The Suomi was a bit hard like it came out of a freezer and then steamed. I probably would not order here again."

"The Roast Duck Over Rice / 燒鴨飯 was good but the skin lacked a bit of crisp. The Salt & Pepper Ribs / 蒜香椒鹽肉排 was a good portion and still crispy. The Lemon Tea / 檸檬茶 was perfectly sweet and tart. Overall 8/10. Will definitely order from again. "
"Garlic Eggplant with Cod Fillet is my favorite dish. It's especially delish when ordered in the restaurant because it comes in a clay pot. It's perfect over fried rice. Portion sizes are good, food is consistent and the customer service is always great! Braised tofu & veggies with black mushroom, and stir-fry ribeye steak with mushrooms are also fan favorites in our house."

"Sweet and sour chicken was the best I've ever had. The"fried" crust was thin so you got more chicken than crust. The sauce was delicious! BF got the scallops with veggies and the steamed Veggies were awesome. He rated the scallops highly!"
"Mu shu pork was still hot when it arrived. It has shitaki mushrooms instead of wood's ear fungus, but still flavorful. Chicken fried rice filled the whole box with lots of ingredients. Very happy with my first order. Will order again when in the area."

"The dry ribs were tasty and meaty. S&S pork was juicy as usual and very delicious. The 3 item 3 Item Combo has very generous helpings. Sodas are always cold regardless being put in the bag with the hot food. And with a delivery fee of only $1.49...you can't beat it!"
"I wanted to love this place because the 3 item $14. price is what attracted me! Unfortunately my fried prawns were a bit under cooked leaving a briny fishy taste in my mouth. The other items, chow mein, broccoli beef and sweet & sour pork was ok. Beef a bit on the salty side, the sweet and sour pork had good flavor but was not batter fried at all, just sauced. Chowmein was noodles only. Maybe I chose the wrong items. Not sure if I'll Doordash again. I will stick with China House. Seemed like steam table food. Might possibly be good if you in a hurry and need grab and go food. "

"Food arrived hot. Noodies still crspy and loaded with slices of fish bok choy black mushrooms, calamri, and fish bslls. I've never had fish balls wih fried noodles (only in pho), but it was a nice surprise.
The shrimp dumplings were large and had a slight crunch due to the bamboo inside the filling. The broth was flavorful and included Napa cabbage. "
"The walnut prawns were delicious and had the perfect amount of sweet sauce on them."
