Geoffrey Swenson and friend Tom Duffy opened the first establishment in Burlingame in 1992, combining an old concept—classic American comfort food—with old-fashioned hospitality and ethics.

This place is amazing. I am allergic to strawberries and asked for bananas and finally a restaurant actually read my notes. I truly appreciate it.
The pancakes were huge! My husband loved them.
Thank you for being an amazing restaurant!!

The food at stacks is generally good so I was surprised to see how some items were made. They always have quality food in their restaurant. I ordered an eggs Benedict and chicken crepe. The hash brown was burnt and messy. Not sure if this is a potato style but it wasn't good and not reflective of how a hashbrown should be, crunchy and fresh but these were dried burnt potato scraps. I wont order any dish that has these potato sides. Also the eggs Benedict usually is made with canadian bacon instead this one had thin slices of sandwich ham. The rest of the meal was great, the pancakes, waffles and french toast. I know your food is good so this is just a miss and hopefully the hashbrown recipe is fixed. Portions were right for the price.

Pretty mid. I got the Chicke & Waffles and not only was the waffle dry and flavorless, leaving the syrup and chicken to carry the dish, but the chicken was bone-in, which just isnt conducive to the entire idea of chicken and waffles. Was also pretty sparse on chicken for $25.

The egg scrambles were good and potatoes but our toast was burnt and the pancakes were falling apart. We didn't receive any condiments for our meals and the orange is very over priced.
