Spicy Fish Sandwich had nice breading and wasn't crazy spicy, not sweat inducing like some other angry orange fish sandwiches. leaned a bit more on the 'fish taco' side taste wise! Chocolate Milk was surprisingly not just a bottle, but mixed cup, some sugar at the bottom taste wise but not a complaint from me 😋

This review is for the Effy's Cafe on the UES. I thought I was ordering from the location on the Upper West Side. I've ordered the Moroccan Paprika Fish from the UWS location several times and the Branzino is always filleted, and it is delicious.
But this location serves the fish whole, unskinned and un-filleted, head included. It was not a pleasant experience for me to face a fish that I had to skin and fillet myself before eating. The description of the dish does not specify that this comes whole.
The Fried Mozzarella Sticks were tasty, the dipping sauce that comes with it is excellent.
The Black Forest Cake is not cake at all. It was some melted dark chocolate on top of foamy layers of what tasted like coffee and cream. It was watery and unpleasant.
I will make sure to never order from this location again. The fish surprise was deeply unpleasant for me and it was not a good meal. I threw most of it away. They should be clear about how they present the fish in the menu.
