The Italian Wedding Soup is truly divine. The Meatballs (2) are home and genuine and the Chicken Milanese is always a wonderful treat.
A family-owned, local restaurant that never fails!

Always a spectacular, healthy meal.
The Italian Wedding Soup is truly a gem; delicious broth, pastina, fresh vegetables and meat. The meatballs are most definitely homemade; generous in size, in a light plum tomato sauce. The chicken Milanese is my go-to; it's always a wonderful treat.
Fantastic, local restaurant that delivers authentic food that you can taste is genuinely made by hand.
You can't go wrong with Gio's.

The Chicken Milanese was excellent, albeit I cannot eat leafy vegetables or uncooked vegatables. See the attached photos, the protein was substantial, well-cooked and delicious. I do take concern with a raw lemon placed on a piece of cooked chicken. Pastina (Grandmas Penicillin) was a bizarre experience. I don't believe that the menu states any cheese product is included or added, but as you'll see from the photos; some type of cheese was added. There never was in my past orders for this soup. Thus, it sits in my garbage and down the disposal.
I always prefer local restaurants for, what is a treat for me, but there shouldn't be these radical changes and variations. This is why chain restaurants stay in business: Consistency....

I like to keep my business local, and fresh, homemade pizza for a treat once are the heart and soul of Gio's.
Amazing chicken tenders; not smothered in a mountain of greasy, cheap breading but an astoundingly crisp, light coating that isn't greasy. While I am not a fan of sauces, Gio's Combo has a wide variety of homemade sauces to accompany them.
The pizza is, as always, a wonderful treat. Fresh dough, NY-quality sauce, dough and cheese. Thin, crisp, but not burned with a perfect blend of a light coating of cheese and their amazing sauce.
Wonderful addition to NEPA!!

Gio's is perfectly described as: Perfect. If you want a true, artesian crafted, homemmade, non-greasy NY Pizza, there simply is no where else to go in NEPA but Gio's. From the thin caramelized, crispy crust, high-quality cheese with drops of ricotta, the well balanced, hand crafted tomato sauce to the dynamic light use of fresh toppings; I honestly cannot imagine ever finding a comparable pie as if I were in Southern Brooklyn. Words cannot describe what a gem Gio's is. And the class they show with the fresh leaves of oregano puts them in a class of their own in NEPA. No "Old Forge"-style slop here.
I tried the Chicken Milanese for the first time. A perfectly breaded (meaning it's not caked-on the white chicken breast), not greasy, a light and delicate arugula topping, lemon wedge and more fresh oregano leaves; it's a fanastic, hearty, healthy dish. My only issue would be having the option for olive oil and garlic topping for my pasta side instead of a tomato-based sauce, but I'm sure if you dine in they could accommodate this. But even the pasta side; a nice fresh fussili pasta in a delicate and delicious tomato sauce with a delicate topping of melted gran padano.
Gio's is a class act that is a beautiful addition to the NEPA community and truly needs to be savored and enjoyed; this is not some typical NEPA pizza shop that leaves a plate of grease after a slice; this is an institution that clearly shows that love and detail goes into every single dish they serve.
If I could give them 6 stars, I would!
