• 16/11/22I have been eating at this Restaurant for years and will continue to do so as long as they are Open. Over the last nearly 10 years of eating here I have never been let down with the Food or Service. The Sashimi is always fresh & healthy and the Rolls gorgeous. Kengo is without a doubt the best Sushi Restaurant in Tracy. As a longtime Patron I highly recommend Kengo for anyone. Dine-In, Take Out or Delivery they will not disappoint.

• 2/01/24My favorite sushi place is Matsuyama Restaurant (Matsumoto Sushi) but I thought I'd try a new place that's much closer to me and I totally regret it. Don't be fooled by the appetizing photos or descriptions of the sushi rolls like I was... it's not worth your money, stay far away. I would actually prefer the sushi from the deli counter at Safeway because it's superior.
We ordered the Orange Dragon Roll, Oh My God Roll and 2 orders of Gyoza. First off, they didn't look appetizing at all. The photo I took looks much better than it did in person. It was just very sloppy, the rice was loose so it was already falling apart, the sauce looked like it separated or melted and I couldn't even distinguish the components. Actually, I didn't even notice that there was tobiko on the top until I took the photo. I only took 1 photo because both rolls looked the same and I couldn't tell which was which. The rolls were also cut into such thin pieces that it was impossible to pick it up with chopsticks or even a fork without it falling apart (spoon required), and if you attempted to dip it, you'd be left with empty chopsticks and sushi/soy soup. But taste is everything, so I still had hopes that it would taste good...Nope!
It was bland, very loose and had no texture. Sooo disappointing for a $60 meal for 2. I figured my New Years Day meal could be redeemed by some yummy Gyoza because while some gyoza/potstickers are much better than others, I've never had a bad dumpling before. However, theres a first for everything. They were fried well (very crispy), but the inside was half empty and what was there was mushy meat and al dente onions. It too tasted bland and because the meat was mushy and I could feel the texture of the undercooked onions, I really thought that I may have mistakenly ordered a veggie or vegan gyoza of some kind, so I opened it up to check and it was indeed a "meat" but I couldn't tell you what kind. Look wise, the filling reminded me of the meat in the Jack in the Box tacos (only with no flavor). Taste/texture wise, it felt like overcooked white rice in the mouth. Neither soy nor potsticker sauce could make them palatable, so we threw those away along with the rest of our meal.
We won't stray from our favorite sushi place in Tracy again because I feel like we were punished for it. I suggest you keep your money and try someplace else. I've tried quite a few sushi places and none are even close to my favorite one but I've never not finished a roll let alone throw one away like I did tonight. I've also never taken the time to write a review before tonight, but it feels like doing a public service to let my neighbors know about my experience. So if you want sushi that looks and tastes as good as the rolls on Kengo Sushi's menu does, just go to Matsuyama Restaurant (Matsumoto Sushi). I know the restaurant as Matsuyama, but Google shows them as Matsuyama Restaurant (Matsumoto Sushi), so it may be under the name Matsumoto on DoorDash. It was a very disappointing dinner but thankfully I had a Dutch Apple Pie in the oven that was a terrific palate cleanser.

• 21/06/25Kengo Sushi is great my favorite place Live in River Islands . Prefer this to To Grantline and Lathrop Japanese restaurants. Quality of food great and prices reasonable in comparison to the other locations. Eating at restaurant is great to nice atmosphere...

• 13/03/26This was $17+. The piece of salmon is like three bites. I ate there in person one time and the salmon piece I got was much bigger and worth the $17+

• 7/10/25The inside crab on the green dragon roll was imitation crab. Flavor on the tempura had no flavor even when dipped in sauce. Japanese pancake was extremely soggy, did not look throughly cooked. Air fried it more at home and still very bland even when dipped in sauce.
