This is by far the best BBQ in the area, we have had Jacks & Joes and both are sub par compared to The Rub very good quality meat not a bit of fat on any of the meat, love their sauce and you have to get the cornbread to top it off! Highly recommend!

Amazing food, even having traveled a good bit to get to me. While the burnt ends of the Burnt Ends or Brisket + 1 Meat & 2 Sides lacked the crisp "bark" or fat marbling of some BBQ places in town, they were tender, plentiful and absolutely delicious. True to their name, the flavor from the layer of rub (and amount used) was perfect. A shocking high point was the fries. Much like the burnt ends, the perfect preparation and unique flavor(s) made up fully for any other shortcomings. Even the Side Salad was amazing (candied nuts and craisins, etc.) The only thing "average," was the slaw, and that's fine!

I had a team meeting at work with members traveling from all over the US. I wanted to give them a KC experience and we all ordered barbecue from The Rub. It was my first experience with this restaurant and hoped it wouldn't be a disappointment. Needless to say, it was a great decision and the food was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the price point is amazing for the portions you get. Quality, quantity and great prices. The trifecta of a successful business lunch. The team wants the next meeting back in KC so they can order again!

I can always get 2 meals from this platter. Even cold the taste is amazing. The smoke flavor is always present and the taste is exactly what you want from BBQ
