The food was delicious and flavorful as always. Vegan Yasai Ramen broth is rich and has great umami. Vegan Red Dragon is my go to and favorite roll and the Vegan Cheesesteak is always tasty as well. I'm glad to be able to order Tomo via doordash now to my house for delivery.

I had my order delivered extremely close to the restaurant and I ordered at a time that is typically slow. For some reason, two out of the three rolls I ordered arrived falling apart. The slices weren't rolled well and had already opened into the containers. I had added tobiko to the Avocado Roll (6pcs) and extra masago to the California (6pcs) and received very little for the extra charge. I was expecting the California (6pcs) to have the entire exterior rolled in masago or for masago to be added on top of each one. Neither was the case. I had photos but for some reason, I lost them in the app and they didn't save to my camera roll. So the photos added are after i tried eating several collapsed slices. It feels like since expanding, there's less perfectionism and a bigger focus on speed. As a longtime customer, that's disappointing to see.

I really wanted to love the vegan sushi here because the presentation was outstanding. Every roll looked beautiful, was prepared quickly, and showed real craftsmanship. From a visual standpoint, the restaurant absolutely delivers.
Where things fell short for me was functionality.
Being vegan doesn’t mean the food should stop working as food. A vegan roll still needs to provide satisfying protein, texture, and a flavor profile that justifies the substitution. Simply replacing salmon with tomato doesn’t capture the same experience. Innovation is important, but it also needs scientific precision. Every ingredient should have a purpose beyond looking good.
To me, food has two jobs: it should be delicious, and it should nourish you. If either one is missing, the dish feels incomplete. Unfortunately, none of the vegan sushi rolls I tried made me think, “I can’t wait to order this again.” They were attractive, but they lacked the balance and functionality I was hoping for.
Ironically, the vegan ramen showed exactly what’s possible. It was flavorful, satisfying, protein-forward, and felt restorative. It proved that vegan food can be both comforting and functional without sacrificing taste.
This isn’t meant to tear the restaurant down—it’s meant to point it in the right direction. The foundation is already there: excellent presentation, fast preparation, and clear attention to detail. Now I’d love to see that same level of precision applied to the vegan sushi menu so the flavors, textures, and nutrition are just as thoughtfully engineered as the presentation.
I genuinely hope the menu continues to evolve, because I’d much rather come back and find those improvements than feel like I need to redesign the vegan sushi menu myself.
