• 15/03/25I'm a native Texan who has traveled all over the country and compared my favorite Texas BBQs to other state's BBQ. I am a huge fan of HEB, but the BBQ we received today was some of the most disappointing I have ever eaten. The lean brisket and turkey were each a slab of dry, chewy meat. The Cole slaw had a chemical aftertaste (soap?). The potato salad was a strange mixture of flavors including mustard powder instead of using real egg-based mayo or liquid mustard. The Mac and cheese used a bland white cheese making it meh. The cornbread and honey butter were more like corn cake with icing. The sweet BBQ sauce was brown sugar water.
We did like the Sidewinder Fries , but those are just thick potatoes with sea salt and not "True Texas BBQ".
I was originally excited that a new HEB opened near my house with BBQ...but none of us who ate from there today are interested in eating there again considering how many options we have for actual Texas BBQ in the area.

• 15/02/251st impression of this place not good. I asked for pickles x3 and bbq sauce x2 and I got no bbq sauce and 5 pickle slices. The meat is really dry without the bbq sauce. My 3 meat plate came in the tinyest little take out plastic tray ive ever seen. I got very little beans. Def not worth the $20 something dollars I paid. Did not get my cornbread either. Sad

• 14/10/25The fried Okra is to die for, fried just right where the outsideas a little crip but tender and tasty on the inside. Two Meat Plate is always great with fatty brisket and sausage, with yummy beans and coleslaw. Cobbler Peach Cobbler Single Serving is pretty good.

• 23/05/25The large sliced brisket sandwich had a tremendous amount of brisket! My husband was very satisfied with it! The reg chopped brisket had a good amt too. The only thing we were disappointed with is the ColeSlaw and the turkey...kids didn't like the smokey flavor of the turkey and the cole slaw wasn't very good at all!
With that being said..we will eat here again, we'll just not order the slaw or the turkey .
