The Large Slow Cooked Hawaiian BBQ Pork Plate was delicious, as was the Hawaiian BBQ Steak Plate. But the large didnt appear to have any more food than the regular size. Perhaps they made a mistake on mine, but it certainly wasnt worth the extra $4. Too much rice and not enough meat on any. Still, the food was great. Glad I ordered extra Side Mac Salad.

I’ve been searching for Hawaiian food in Chicago and decided to try this place. I decided to try the Island Coconut Shrimp (5 ea) shrimp. It was good quality, especially if you love coconut shrimp, but for me, it was just okay—the outer layer tasted like macaroons, and I wish there was an option without the coconut coating.
I had the Large Mixed Plate .
The crispy chicken was amazing! Even though it was delivered, it still had its crunch and great flavor. I would definitely order double crispy chicken next time. The BBQ beef, however, was chewy, and I didn’t like the flavor or the Hawaiian sauce. I’m not into spicy food, so I wish they had a more teriyaki pineapple sauce. The rice was cooked well with a subtle flavor, but the mac salad had too much mayo for my taste. Overall, the food was solid, but I’d stick to the crispy chicken in the future!

I got the Slow Cooked Hawaiian BBQ Pork Plate and was pretty disappointed. I would never consider myself an expert on Hawaiian cuisine but the Mac salad tasted like it came out of a tub at Jewel. Also, the rice was severely undercooked, it was inedible without the pork. That said, the pork was tender and the sauces I got were decent. If you're looking for something similar, but better, get Hawaiian Bros.
