If you're looking for true homemade-style menudo, this spot nailed it. The broth has that slow-simmered depth from dried guajillo peppers that instantly hits the spot. The textures were spot on—tender beef tripe paired with plump hominy. Served piping hot with warm tortillas and fresh toppings on the side, it's the ultimate weekend comfort dish. 10/10, will definitely be coming back for more!

They give you the toppings and two handmade tortillas. Portion is good. The taste could be better. I would hope next time they would give me more meat. Love the handmade tortillas.

I absolutely cannot believe how bad this was in every possible way. The packaging was wet and falling apart by the time it got to me.
The Chuletas had zero flavor, the meat was so overcooked and dry it wasn't funny. The rice and beans were bland. The description on here was completely wrong.
Lorocco pupusa just tasted like burnt cheese...the pieces of lorocco, if you can call it that, had no flavor beyond that.
Ayote was full of zucchini, but still tasted like burnt cheese.
Salsa was super bland.
Curtido was also zero taste.
Like how???? How and why was this so bad?? Not cheap either. First time I had to pay extra for salsa and curtido too. Insult to injury. Never again.

I recently tried El Santaneco after wanting to for some time. Unfortunately the experience fell short for me. The Bistek Encebollado meat was tough and had a few gristle areas. The ajo pupusas were good. The curtido was bland and seemed like it was missing an ingredient. I disliked the taste of their Horchata and only drank a few sips. I did like that they had so many different kinds of pupusas from which to choose. Their yuca con chicarron was good. The platanos con crema was good! We did not receive the Casimiento I had ordered. I am not yet sure if I will try them again. Seeing their good ratings it might have just been a bad night and was close to closing time.
