Burma Love wasn’t San Francisco’s first Burmese restaurant, but it’s undoubtedly the hippest. Owner Desmond Tan is passionate about the beloved dishes from his homeland and innately knows how to make …
Mango chicken was so good! A bit pricey but it's a lot of food, so totally worth it and can't go wrong with the coconut rice! Also had the Samusas which were flavorful and the sauce it comes with is very good!

Their reputation speaks for itself, so will just point out some specific menu hacks: 1) order more than one Coconut Rice per person, the food can be kind of spicy and I always wish there was more rice. 2) Chicken with Fresh Mint is kind of a weirdly named dish. It's not an especially mint forward dish. It's really just spicy, garlicky cubed chicken. Perfect simple healthy chicken dish. 3) Mango Chicken is definitely the best thing on the menu, but the flavor is a little overwhelming so balance it out with some other dishes (like coconut rice, platha and dip, the noodle soup, etc) that are less sweet and sour.

Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup came with not enough broth and too much overcooked spaghetti to count as a soup. It was more like a gloopy pasta dish with not nearly enough of the flavor the ingredients suggest, probably because of all that mushy pasta absorbing everything. Platha was good as always. Love this restaurant, but very disappointed with this soup.

EVERYTHING IS AMAZING. BEST PLACE EVER. Especially coconut rice (obviously), chicken with mint, nan pia dok (🤤 first time trying this - such a good combo of flavors), and the garlic chips 🤤🤤 So glad I thought to order this for one of my last SF meals before moving across the country 😍

Where to begin? This place is incredible. Every thing I've had has been so on point. The Burmese chicken salad might be the best salad I've ever had. They have the best oh non kauswer in the city. The garlic eggplant is so good I get it nearly every time. The coconut rice is rich, and a teensy bit sweet with coconut flavor. Best Burmese restaurant in the city by far!
