This place is excellent for both a Mexican spot and a vegan spot. And to think it's in Monterey of all places. I haven't ever been disappointed here.
If you're not sure what to get with all this variety, then the Tofu veggie Burrito is a solid choice. It's delicious, it will fill you up, and you'll feel happy.

This food is so healthy and tasty. Everything I have had is excellent but one of my absolute favorites is the Tlayudas Oaxaqueñas which can easily feed two to three people. Lots of avocado, fresh salsa and wonderful black beans.

I ordered the 100% rated grilled chicken wet burrito!! I moved recently from Santa Rosa and this food competes right up there!! DELICIOUS!! I mentioned it was my first time trying their food and they sent me a complimentary potato taco that was to die for!!

I'm fasting for lent and was craving tacos, and the ASADA TACOS were the perfect portion!! I wish the description said what kind of non-meat protein was in it, but they were still super great and i'm so coming back!!

I'm a local vegan and absolutely love El Cantaro. The crispy potato tacos are SO good, and the pozole is to die for! My favorite was the mini empanadas, but I haven't seen them on the menu in a while. Honestly, everything is amazing.
