BBQ is de BOMB! Pork was moist, ribs had great smokey flavor, burnt ends absolutely dynamite! Sides...eh. Beans flavor was great, but very small serving for a 2-person platter. Also, no options for sauce flavors - which is a crime, because their spicy sauce is phenominal. Overall great meal with some minor gripes

the Variety Platter For One is plenty even for two people! i wanted to try a new bbq spot other than the obvious favorites, & this one was worth a try! Burnt ends & brisket were delish. The ribs however were mostly inedible, so i recommend skipping out on that. The onion ring would have been good if the breading didn't fall off upon arrival. The tea came bottled.

Hayward has been a favorite restaurant of mine since I moved to Kansas City in 1976. Their current location and team are doing a great job. I typically get the Hayward special with turkey. Sometimes with sausage. I love their fries – especially extra crispy. Their sauce is the best in Kansas City in my opinion. And there are a lot of great sauces in Kansas City! They also have fantastic beans. They always give you plenty of food! I love this place!

Rib and Burnt End platter was fantastic as usual. Banana cream pie was tasty, but I felt it was overpriced for the very small slice that you get.

Food was cold. Ribs were dry. The portions were terrible. I'm still hungry and we paid almost 50.00 for 2 people. Half slab with fries and 2 cokes. Too expensive. Almost more than Q39. Ripoff.
