I have tried many Filipino breakfasts and Kalan is by far the best. The presentation and the quality of their meat is second to none. I ordered the overload breakfast (portions were plenty) and the grilled liempo...delicious!

My new go-to filipino restaurant for breakfast! I find that the food is not too greasy/oily! I ordered the Overload and it is indeed overload! I think it's good for 2 people or just for yourself if you're really hungry or save some for lunch! Lol The tocino is good, not too sweet. The hotdog they use is also really good! I love the garlic rice, it's not too oily and just the perfect amount of garlic! The biya is really crispy!

Tapa is dry.
Leimpo is not hot.
Shanghai is good but the sauce is mediocre.
Fried rice is okay.
Egg is okay.
Overall it's okay but not going for second.

Usually very good but today the rice was very hard. Not sure if it was not fresh or not cooked all the way.

This was our first time trying this restaurant based on the reviews. We ordered 3 mains, two side orders and extra eggs. They were out of the dish intended for our child but were not given an opportunity to order something different, it just came without it (so my child did not have something to eat). My order did not come with the tocino I requested, it came with all tuyo. The tuyo itself tasted very stale. I could not eat any of it.
The steak was not cooked to medium rare, which was requested in special instructions.
I regret not ordering from our usual spots. We were just looking to support. I don't normally like to post public reviews, but we spend a lot of money on food, and to not be able to enjoy it, is disappointing.
