• 3/10/24Lao Der is not shy when it comes to heat. When you ask for extra spicy, it's actually spicy. I don't know how much I can stress that, all places I go when I ask for extra spicy, it is never satisfying. Although it can get pricey (sticky rice, khao soy), this is my to go place when I want raw beef laab (Beef Tartare). I absolutely love the bamboo soup, although I had better. It is so rare to find, so this is actually perfect when you're too lazy to make it. oh, did I forget the chicken feet! Would love it even more if it is mixed with papaya sauce instead. Would be nice to have some shrimp paste and fresh chili with kao poon, kao piak, or any type of noodle dish.

• 9/27/24The portions are ridiculously small. The sticky rice was $5 and the tri-tip was $17. The sticky rice was about the size of my palm (I'm fairly petite-5 feet) so hopefully that explains how small the portion of sticky rice we got. The tri-tip was okay. Marinated well but a bit tough to chew as it was overcooked. I'll just stick to getting the Kaopoon from here but probably nothing else moving forward.

• 9/7/25New to this place and it was pretty good. Everything was fresh. Improvements would be: pork in the spring rolls was bland and I missed a traditional peanut dipping sauce. The sauce it came with was good though. The lemongrass chicken was cooked well & very flavorful, but the coating was a little too salty for me.

• 1/27/25Loving the innards soup(kreuang nai) during cold season and also fermented pork with slivers of gingers and garlic and of chili with some cilantro.
