The food was quality and prepared with care for my takeout order. I enjoyed the presentation of the food including the wonderful surprise of sumac spice and and informational card for me to add additional flavor and love to the dish.
Worth every penny spent.
The included fresh herbs was the icing on the cake. for my .ain dishes.
The grilled veggies were a nice size and a great variety.
The cardamom cake was simply delicious with the strawberry tarragon sauce. I added some vanilla ice cream

Wonderful meal!! The lamb shank and albaloo were superb!! All items were fresh, perfectly seasoned and packaged well. The meal was consistent just as it is when we dine in the restaurant. We will definitely order again!!

I have dined here since the day it opened since I live across the street. However, their prices have almost doubled since the restaurant first opened and I don't think the flavor/portions justify the prices they charge. I placed an order this evening for 4 entrees and one appetizer and it came out to $230, I didn't even bother to order the steak or seabass because that was more than 60 per entree. I placed the order at 7:45pm, showed up at 8:30pm to pick up the food and they informed me that the kitchen is behind and that it will be another 20 minutes or so, no real apology, just deal with it. The food portions have gone done over the years, it's a shame because I prefer to support local restaurants but not at all cost. There are other Persian restaurants in dc that cost half of what Rumi charges.

I've had the chicken barg twice now - once dining in the restaurant and one with takeout (Door Dash). Very tasty! I've also had the opportunity to try many of the other dishes and you really can't go wrong.
Aside from that I really appreciate the small touches Rumi's Kitchen provides. When I've dined in they presented us each with a quote from Persian poet Rumi. When I Ordered takeout it came with a box or herbs and accoutrements and a card describing why and how they are used in Persian culture.
