I was really surprised today. And not in a good way. Normally when we order from Sal & Phil's, everything is great: food is fresh, hot and packaged carefully. Not today. My $13 snow crab cluster in its pitiful plastic bag looked like it had been scraped from the bottom of the pot and tasted that way too. The crab had soaked up so much seasoning it was barely edible. My 1/2 shrimp po boy came 1/2 naked instead of "fully dressed" but I guess 4 fried shrimp didn't need much covering. That must be why the bread was smashed down tight to keep the shrimp warm. I slurped my gumbo from its plastic container because I was not provided any utensils and used my shirt to wipe my hands before I made the mistake of rubbing that seasoning in my eyes - whew! Nope - it was a bad day for this place - and overpriced for what I got.

I ordered an Oyster Po Boy and Hush Puppies. Arrived cold. The bread is not good. Was hoping to find a replacement for Fat Tuesdays, but to no avail. The bread was not nearly of the same quality and chew. Not many Oysters, I counted 6. Not much flavor. Hush puppies were ok, but too sweet.

the Crawfish Po-Boy was not good. the crayfish were overcooked, so dry and hard, remoulade didn't have a good flavor, and it didn't include fries. Who sells a poboy without fries?? The fries I ordered were good, but a very small portion for $5. The portions of ettouffe and gumbo were dissatifying as well. This was my first and last time eating this place. Georgia Blue runs circles around it.

The only thing I would order again is the catfish poboy and the fries. The crab was bland not much flavor other than crab and salt but maybe most people like it that way. Not that the crab was bad but it could've had more but it was really easy to crack and peel by hand. The crawfish had poop in every single one of them I just decided not to eat them maybe I'm just picky lol but I'm used to them not having poop in them. Didn't get to try the peach cobbler since they forgot to put it in my order. The catfish poboy was pretty good not super greasy the bread was soft but crisp(I didn't get it toasted) and I added tartar sauce to it which made it even better. The tartar sauce is really good(it reminds me of Captain D's tartar sauce) so I'd definitely get the poboy again. Everything was nice and fresh though and the portions were good. I wouldn't say I would go out of my way to try this place but I'm glad I at least tried it once because I really just wanted a poboy but ended up ordering more lol.
