Hello everyone! Welcome to So Soulful Eatery! We are a local business bringing good food and good vibes to a restaurant near you! We don’t believe what you eat matters, we believe you are what you eat…
The restaurant called me because the fish and g rits were out. So I had an option. I ordered the catfish dinner and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection. The peach Homemade Peach Cobbler was also delicious. And the owner was nice enough to not charge a difference in price, which I' m sure there is one. Highly recommend
Will be ordering again

The Veggie Plate did not come with anything on the description. I paid for the sides. No asparagus, no mushrooms, nothing.
The chicken looks and tastes like it was cooked 2 or 3 times and there was only 1 leg instead of 2. The greens have no flavor but salt. The green beans taste like they came out of a can.
Worst purchase I have made in a long time.

I got a lil bit of everything so I could try. Catfish Piece and Dressing were pretty good. The 1/4 Dark was cute- it was definitely crispy and I liked whatever lemon pepper they put on top . It tasted like an after church plate from my childhood 10000%. The mac and cheese wasnt anything to write home about but the greens were surprisingly really good. No meat but had a nice kick to them. All in all, it was good and tasted home cooked. I probably wouldn't order anything I got today again aside but I do want to try to their shrimp & grits + some desserts. What I got was enough to share with someone or have leftovers.

When I first ordered from you guys, I ordered the baked turkey and it was fire, both times. I decided with this recent order I would try something else and unfortunately was greatly disappointed. I want you guys to do well and improve from this so I'm gonna keep it 100.
The portion size for the catfish dinner is WAAY too small for $22. You have chains like JJ's, Sharks, and Hooks selling large catfish fillet dinners for the same amount and you get 5 pieces with fries. Cleos has a 5pc catfish dinner for $28. I'm all for premium quality but the portion should definitely match the price. 2pcs of catfish with 2 tablespoons of each side is ridiculous. I also got the smothered pork chop dinner, the pork chops are good but come on mann, that portion size is something you feed to a child. For $22 I should have a full plate of food.
The best advice I can give is this, if you all are going to offer a wide variety of meal options, make sure it is cost effective enough to where you don't need to skimp on portions to maintain profits. If you are going to offer lamb chops, make sure those chops are THICKKKK, because $40 for some popsicle chops is an insult. You would be better off not serving lamb at all and put that cost back into larger portions of other items on your menu.
I've seen too many soul food spots close because of this exact thing and it seems to be a pattern. I hope you all take this advice to heart and figure out a way to balance the scales a bit, much love <3

Food was nasty. Chicken was just fried in flour with no seasoning. They didnt give me my yams, corn bread half done as you can see in the picture, paid an extra $6.00 for a side if string beans which I got a tablespoon scope sent that was very salty. Overall I would not recommend nor order from this place again
