The quality of the food was great - you could tell the fish for example was high quality. However, there were so many peppercorns and chili peppers that the spiciness overpowered the other flavors that the fishes might've had.
This might be how the food is actually supposed to be - and if it is - I'm sure it's great. It just wasn't for my wife and me. We're Asian and LOVE spicy food, but we just didn't like this and unfortunately had to throw it away, which is a shame because it was almost $100 worth of food :(
We had the Ma-Ma Hot Fish 麻麻藤椒鱼 and La-Zi Chicken 川山甲辣子鸡 as our entrees. We had the Salted Egg Yolk Corns 咸蛋黄焗玉米粒 as a side which was good but a little too fried/oily. The White Rice 白饭 was good.
The bag that it arrived in was great - it was insulated which I appreciate. Unfortunately the lids of the containers used for the La-Zi chicken and corn were cracked so some of it spilled. I do like that they give you a card for free drinks if you dine in with them.

Mountain house is always on point. Love the Spicy Ma-La Boiled Beef and there's plenty of food to share. I order food here at least 1x per week. Ingredients are always fresh too.

Both the 干锅花菜Stir Fried Cauliflower and the 美味千叶豆腐Chiba Tofu had huge pieces of pork in them! These are supposed to be vegetarian dishes!!!
The 竹筒牛肉饭 Bamboo Beef Rice has zero bamboo and barely any beef. It just tasted like mediocre fried rice.
I don't believe that the 酒香牛腩小土豆Claypot Beef Stew w. Potatoes had real potatoes. They were tiny and tasted like balls of passed dough instead. The part of the sauce which didn't leak into the delivery bag was flavorless, and the beef was more connective tissue than actual chunks of meat.
The packaging was very nice though.

We have always enjoyed this restaurant and most of our past visits or deliveries were excellent. We loved the 老坛酸菜鱼Szechuan Cabbage & Fish and 夫妻肺片Fu-Qi Special.
Unfortunately, two dishes we had today was disappointing - the Szechuan 四川泡菜Szechuan Pickles was not well fermented, many tasted raw which was very different from what we had in the past; we also found the 柚葱香油墨鱼仔 Grapefruit Fragranced Baby Cuttlefish no something we would recommend as the bitterness of grapefruit was incoherent with the sauce, and the baby cuttlefish were slightly overcooked.
