Welcome to Talay Thai Restaurant BEST THAI RESTAURANT IN WASHINGTON DC Straightforward Thai dishes with adjustable spice levels presented in a plain wood-paneled setting.
I rarely write food reviews but I really felt that the restaurant deserved a proper 5 start review. I am pregnant (aka very picky taste buds) and had been craving Thai eggplant with chicken which sounds simple but I have had an extremely hard time finding it an any restaurant other than one over an hour from me. I googled and found it on Talay's menu and decided to give it a try and so glad I did! I am only a few bites in but stopped to write this review because its' THAT delicious! Thai eggplant and Thai tea both 10/10! Will definitely order again and make sure to stop in the restaurant one da for the full experience!

The Yum Woon Sen was a bunch of noodles with spicy seasoning. Barely any minced chicken at all and two nice size shrimp. The vegetables were hard (green and red pepper could have been cooked a little more. Onions OK. Maybe should have had mushrooms included. Seasoning a little too spicy for my liking. At $15.95 this is not a dish I would recommend or ever purchase again. Again, where was the minced chicken - very scarce. Shame on Talay Thai!

i got a double portion of chicken with the Drunken Noodles which were surprisingly spicy and tasty. i'd order this again but the eggplant was not flavorful and i got the duck which just tasted odd. bad choice. you can see how small the serving is. these 2 dishes plus 2 sides of rice (i only asked for brown but got white and brown) cost me $70+. decent delivery experience but now i believe the other reviews that say it's pricey for the portion size.

Pad 42. Pad Thai and 7. 5 Steamed Dumplings were delicious. However, I ordered pork which was a dollar more than my husband's chicken, and we both got chicken.
